What Happens During a Surgical Procedure?
Each pet will receive bloodwork before surgery to establish a baseline understanding of her health. This pre-anesthetic blood work also allows us to check for conditions that may require a different approach to anesthesia. During surgery, your pet will receive an IV catheter, anesthesia, and constant monitoring. We monitor each pet’s temperature, blood pressure, oxygen, Co2, and heart rate throughout the surgery. To keep your pet warm during surgery, we use 3M™ Bair Hugger™ blankets or a HotDog® Veterinary Warming System. The type of surgical warmer we choose will depend on your pet’s unique needs. Most surgeries also include laser therapy to help your pet’s incisions heal more quickly.

We’ll keep you updated throughout every step and let you know when your furry friend is ready to go home with you. We also welcome your questions before, during, and after the surgery. We’re here to help!
